CTCI-WIN

The Hercules Channel to Channel Link to Windows TCP/IP stack allows any networking enabled mainframe operating systems running under Hercules to communicate with the outside world via a simulated virtual Ethernet adapter that communicates directly with your Windows host's networking stack.

You may download and try CTCI-WIN for free with no obligation whatsoever, but it is not freeware.

Once you have downloaded it and found it to be useful you are expected to then purchase your copy if you wish to continue using it.

What is CTCI-WIN?

CTCI-WIN provides "TunTap" functionality for Hercules. It allows any networking enabled mainframe operating systems running under Hercules to communicate with the outside world via a simulated virtual Ethernet adapter that communicates directly with the Windows networking stack.

It consists of a set of Windows DLLs providing the programming interface between Hercules, CTCI-WIN, and the WinPCap device driver, and a testing tool to verify proper CTCI-WIN networking functionality.

CTCI-WIN requires WinPCap in order to work. WinPCap is a device driver that can inject packets onto the local network and intercept packets sent across a given local network adapter. By using the WinPCap device driver, CTCI-WIN is able to deliver packets from your Hercules guest's virtual network adapter to the Windows host's real network adapter and vice versa, thereby providing your virtual Hercules guest with a real physical presence on your Windows host's real physical network.

The "TunTap" DLL provides the interface between Hercules and the CTCI-WIN software, and the "FishPack" DLL provides the interface between the CTCI-WIN software and the WinPCap device driver (which then provides the interface to your Windows system's network).

The TT64Test testing tool provides a means of verifying that both CTCI-WIN and WinPCap have both been properly installed and are thus ready to provide the networking connectivity needs for your Hercules guest.
